Stan’s Cup
(www.stanscupmovie.com)

A feature film about Old Timer’s hockey based on a true story, written by John Rice, story by Kirk Roos.  Produced by Michael Birnbaum.

This is one of those projects that can best described with the short hand “created by” Roos Media Group.  In the early days of this project, investor, hockey and film enthusiast Jeff Schlossman of (Old Timer’s Hockey) approached RMG with the idea of developing a movie about a true story of his friends’ hockey team, who had experienced a once-in-a-lifetime whirlwind tournament where they wound up playing the 1980 Russian Team, famed for playing the “Miracle Team.”  Schlossman brought a “team” of producers and investors into the project, plus other hockey enthusiasts.

The Producers mission was to have Roos take the story from script and business planning to the big screen. Through a combination of careful planning and competitive analysis, to management and scouting of the best, and cost-effective business decisions for the film, RMG managed the project to the level of partnering with various Hollywood Producers and Directors.  From writing and casting, from financial budgeting and fundraising, to investor’s relations and partnership/association networking, Roos Media created the best option for bringing the story to fruition.

A work in progress, Stan’s Cup is still in development stages, currently working on casting.  Casting is being done by Sarah Finn.  John Rice is set to Direct.

American Herro
(www.americanherro.org)

American Herro is an inspirational story about a woman’s journey from being a young refugee fleeing terror in Iraq to becoming a U.S. Diplomat.  30-years after fleeing Iraq, Herro's job gives her the opportunity to return to the Kurdish region, where she was born.    Now, Herro Mustafa, is working as a Senior Advisor on the Middle East in Joe Biden’s office.

The film premiered at The Kennedy Center to a sold-out audience in May, 2009, and again at a D.C. premiere hosted by ND Congressman, Earl Pomeroy.  The film can be seen on PBS, and is available through NETFLIX.  From storyline development to project management, this film was a “heart-and-soul” piece for RMG and has been a thrill to produce in every sense of the term.

…And on the 7th Day, God Rocked
(www.4trackfilms.com)

“…God Rocked” is a mockumentary of a Christian music festival battle of the bands competition.  There are many groups that come to raise a holy ruckus!  They succeed!  Their goal is the same: to win this festival and a record contract. The competition is fierce, but one band finally succeeds, but not until a whole group of righteous rockers learns to take a deeper look inside only to discover a connection between you and me.

RMG’s participation with 4-Track films in “God Rocked” was primarily in marketing consulting and strategic planning, as well as distribution representation.  Almost immediately, RMG was able to get the film on NETFLIX and we’re excited to see its continued success in regional theatrical tours and well as broadcast.

TIMBER: Dead and Down
(www.beckercountyhistory.org)

Timber: Dead and Down conveys the history of logging in northwestern Minnesota, specifically Becker County.  (Produced with Becker Country Historical Society)   The film shows a snippet of what life must have been like to the early loggers of the late 1800’s, early 1900’s.   It also shows that the thing that fueled the industry (cutting down trees), also became its own demise.  Billions of board feet left the county in that era, and most of that has been unrecoverable by way of planting trees.

In this documentary, the audience meets characters who represent the early loggers, and hear their stories based on historical facts.  From creative collaboration, to script design, to project management, Roos Media brought creative and organizational talents to Timber: Dead and Down to help it become a reality.  The premiere of the film will be September 24, 2009 in Detroit Lakes, MN, and is also in beginning stages of working on a separate ‘edit’ for PBS broadcast.
